What are the benefits of a spiral staircase?
Spiral staircases are a classic feature and can add sophistication to your home. Not only do they look great but they are also great space savers. Spiral staircases also allow you to have more freedom with customisation.
Will a spiral staircase fit in my property?
Spiral staircases have a small footprint thanks to the spiral design itself. Because it builds on top of itself, your steps won’t extend out past the width, or diameter, of your staircase, therefore they make great space savers should you want to maximise on the room available to you.
Do I need building regulations for a spiral staircase?
All spiral staircases should comply with Park K of the building regulations. The guidelines state that occupants or visitors of a house are protected against falling, collision or impact. For this reason British Standards Document BS 5395 Part II comes into effect and states there must be no gaps greater than 99mm anywhere on the spiral staircase.
